Freshmen Lauren Stille and Jordan Baillargeon combined for 12 goals leading the Women's Lacrosse team to a 21-15 win over American International College in their final home game of the season on April 24. Baillargeon scored seven points while Stille added five in the victory. Although Baillargeon and Stille had success in the game, it was not an easy win for the Ravens. In the first half, Franklin Pierce fell behind 5-0. But the Ravens did not quit as they were hungry for their third win of the season. Stille scored four goals in the first half and Franklin Pierce scored 10 of the half's final 11 goals to take an 11-7 lead into halftime. Baillaregon took over in the second half scoring four goals. Senior goaltender Michaela Sullivan also had 15 saves to secure her first collegiate victory on Senior Night. Junior captain Carla Savini had three goals in the victory and was proud of the Ravens performance. "AIC has beaten us ever since I have been on this team and we finally beat them so I am really excited," Savini said. "We put everything we had into this game." Savini believes the outstanding performances by freshmen Stille and Baillargeon raise the stakes for everyone else because everyone is trying to keep up with them. Junior May Stoffer agrees with Savini. "Stille is amazing and so is Jordan," said Stoffer about the two freshmen. "They're very humble but they are nasty players and it's just great to have them around." The two scoring freshman machines have sparked the Ravens offense and are rewriting the Franklin Pierce record books. On April 10 against Norwich, Baillargeon set the school record for points in a game with 13. Stille on the hand broke the Franklin Pierce single season goals, assists and points records, finishing her first collegiate season with 73 goals, 14 assists, and 87 points. She also finished first in the Northeast-10 Conference in scoring. According to Stille, she is surprised by her early success, and is very proud of her records. "Every game I play aggressive," said Stille. "Next year I want to have a winning season." The Ravens keep improving each year. After only winning twice in 2007, they finished their 2008 season with a 3-13 record. Many of the players attribute their team bonding to their improvement this year. "We are really good friends and everyone just connects," said junior Siobhan Martin. With superstar freshmen and great team chemistry, the Women's Lacrosse team only looks to perform better next year.
