Letters to the Editor

"The libery of speaking and writing...guards our other liberties." - Thomas Jefferson

I was distressed to learn from Mr. Vitukevich’s piece on the “State of the University" that the Pierce Arrow was allegedly not allowed distribution at a previous open house.

Letters to the Editor

A response to "The State of the University" editorial

I enjoyed the article “The State of the University” published on April 22, 2010, as it was a rare moment of substance and honesty in discussing the problems facing FPU. Please accept my congratulations to yourself and to the Pierce Arrow for publishing your opinion piece.

Editors Note: The editorial about "The Editorial"

I am in awe at the magnitude my little editorial has risen to. I have literally heard from hundreds of students, professors, faculty and staff members about this article, many saying good things, some saying bad; either way I just want to thank those who have truly spoken up and engaged themselves in this form of public discourse that I was hoping for.

The State of the "State of the University"

The year is coming to a close and let’s be honest; during the course of it I have addressed some very serious and some very controversial topics. I have tackled everything from people who smell to freshman fire alarms.

Sellers' Scruple: Reflection of Growth

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and my good friend (and now editor) Mr. Jeff Payne for giving me the opportunity to rant one last time in Sellers’ Scruples.

The world according to Frankie P

As the year draws to a close and so does my half way point in college, I thought it was time I wrote what I’ve learned at Franklin Pierce thus far. Professors remind us almost every day that we should be absorbing what they have been saying and, while I mean no disrespect, there are just as important things that I’ve learned outside of the classroom. So here is the list of the top five things I’ve learned while getting my learning on (in no particular order).

The State of the University

A call to students, staff, faculty, and the Franklin Pierce Community

Entering the midway point of my soon to be four years at Franklin Pierce, I am excited and eager to see what my following years have to entail, but I’m also left to ponder many of the activities, events, and situations that have occurred in my past two years here.

Cash Conundrums

Here’s a thing that I’ve noticed about college students, Franklin Pierce included.

Food For Thought

Ode to the snow day

On Wednesday morning, with my eyes still half closed, I fumbled for my cell phone to turn off the obnoxious alarm signaling it was 6:30 and time for my run. My roommate and I dressed and made our way out of the building. As we were opening the door of Cheshire we suddenly found ourselves trapped with the door not fully opening due to a foot of snow before us.

Stress Freak

This week’s topic is a bit of a change because it isn’t a topic specific to the Franklin Pierce Campus but pretty much crosses every college campus across the country.

NOlympics

Once every four years the Winter Olympics come sliding into view. They are jam-packed with sports no one sees on television any other time, bizarre commercials, and a plethora of past Olympians jaded by the fact that their records have been broken and that they have been reduced to commenting on the young'ns competing in the sports they love.
