On Friday April 23, the Residence Hall Association (R.H.A.) will be hosting “Let’s Do It in the Dark,” a highlighter dance party with a live DJ, free food, and giveaways at 9:00 p.m. in Cheney Hall.

The first 100 people who attend will get a t-shirt with “Let’s Do It in the Dark” printed on the front and a highlighter to write on the t-shirts. Also, every student will be entered in a free raffle for Red Sox tickets and gift cards to Wal-Mart, Market Basket, and Hannaford, according to Junior Area Experience Director (ED) Mike Lynch.
Cheney Hall will be decorated in black lights in order for the highlighters to glow in the dark. The walls will also be covered in white paper so students can write on the walls with the highlighters.
The event was planned with hopes that students can have an enjoyable time on a Friday night. “This will be a chance to bring students of all years together to build a community,” said Granite Hall ED Jillian Schramm.
R.H.A. has ordered over 400 highlighters for the event and is anticipating between 100 and 200 students, according to Schramm.
The event is also being co-sponsored by the Class of 2012.
The dance has been in the works since November.
Free food will be available for all that attend.
