Today, Thursday April 22, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. the entire Residential Life staff, including 28 Community Assistants and six Experience Directors, will be hosting their first ever Field Day free of charge for all students.

The event will be taking place on the Academic Mall, the grass field in front of Cheshire Hall and Mountain View. The first 100 people will receive free t-shirts.

The event is being described as the last large social event of the year for Residential Life. Activities for students include a tug-o-war, frozen t-shirt contest, relay races, slip n’ slide, water dodge ball, and Jell-O wrestling with music being provided by The Talon WFPC-LP.

“It’s an opportunity to get people out there, have a good time, and end the year on a fun note,” said Chris Johnson, sophomore experience director.

According to Mike Lynch, junior experience director, the event is also being described as an “old school field day, with more of an adult base of events."

Food will also be provided free of charge including s’mores, popcorn, and cotton candy.

“I think this event will be a great opportunity for students to get out of the dorms for a few hours, enjoy the nice weather, and relax before finals and the stress of the end of the year,” said Community Assistant Erica Tomaszewski.

There is a tentative rain date of April 29.
